Dirk Nowitzki remarks on Cowboys' play-calling, Ezekiel Elliott approves
One Dallas star athlete apparently was watching another on Sunday, when the Cowboys and 49ers battled in San Francisco.
The Cowboys fell into an early 14-point hole but took the lead in the second half on a scoring drive that saw rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott carry the ball seven times in 10 plays, ending with his 1-yard touchdown plunge up the middle. (That's a fork and knife in case you can't see.) Elliott finished the afternoon with 23 rushes for 138 yards. He's now carried 94 times on the season for an NFL-best 412 yards (4.4 average) and 27 first downs.
It's a passing league, but good things happen when you can run the ball, especially when the defense knows it's coming.
