Jason Witten is a model of consistency. The 12-year veteran tight end has started every game fro the Cowboys since 2006. Although he finished with lesser numbers than his career norm in receptions and yards, there was a good reason for it.

Witten was asked to stay in and serve as a blocker more in the Cowboys' retooled offense under first year coordinator Scott Linehan. Witten finished as Pro Football Focus' third-best pass blocking tight end and their 10th-best run blocking tight end in 2014. He was used to block on more than 50 percent of his total offensive snaps.

Over the last three seasons, no tight end has been on the field for more total snaps than Witten. H has finished within the top-three in snaps among tight ends for six straight seasons. Witten is the true definition of an iron man who is exceptional as a blocker and receiver.

With Murray moving on, the Cowboys could opt to open up the passing game more in 2015. As Tony Romo's safest option over the middle, Witten could become a main benefactor of the new offensive philosophy.
