Dez Bryant, Antonio Gates out for Week 4
For the afternoon games on Sunday in Week 4, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant and San Diego Chargers tight end Antonio Gates will be inactive.
With the 4:00 p.m. ET games rapidly approaching on Sunday afternoon, there are a few key players that will be inactive in Week 4. The two most notable players that will be out on Sunday are Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant and San Diego Chargers tight end Antonio Gates.
Bryant is expected to mis the next two games for the Cowboys after suffering a leg injury in Week 3’s win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday Night Football. This isn’t good news for Cowboys rookie quarterback Dak Prescott. Prescott only has one passing touchdown through three games this season. Dallas plays San Francisco 49ers in Santa Clara at 4:25 p.m. ET.
Gates won’t play for the Chargers, as he is dealing with a hamstring injury. This is yet another blow to the Chargers this season. They have lost four key players for the season: wide receiver Stevie Johnson, wide receiver Keenan Allen, running back Danny Woodhead, and linebacker Manti Te’o.
San Diego still has a future Hall of Famer at quarterback in Philip Rivers, but he will be without his favorite target in Gates on Sunday. The Chargers should be able to survive in Week 4 sans Gates. That is because the Chargers will be at home versus the lowly New Orleans Saints. Kickoff from Qualcomm Stadium is at 4:25 p.m. ET from San Diego.
Will the Cowboys be able to offset the loss of Bryant in Week 4 to move to 3-1? Can San Diego get to .500 with a big home win over the Saints without Gates?
