Detroit Lions move Xavier Proctor from D-tackle to O-tackle

Xavier Proctor is getting a new perspective on football. Formerly a defensive tackle for the Detroit Lions, Proctor will now witness the game from the opposite side of the line of scrimmage, as Kyle Meinke of MLive.com reports on the 315-pounder's switch to offensive tackle.
Proctor is an undrafted North Carolina Central product who has spent the last two seasons on Detroit's practice squad. Moving him to offensive tackle creates some depth with LaAdrian Waddle still recovering from a torn ACL, Meinke notes.
Waddle is not expected to be ready for the start of the 2015 season, according to MLive.com, so there is an opening for Proctor to make the roster as a reserve O-lineman. His main competition will come from Cornelius Lucas, converted tight end Michael Williams and rookie Corey Robinson.
