Denver Broncos: It Isn't Over Until That Lady Sings

The Denver Broncos are 8-6 with two games to go in the season. I am here to tell Broncos Country to not give up hope yet.

Before I turn my attention to the Christmas Day game against the Kansas City Chiefs, I am here to say that Denver Broncos fans shouldn’t throw in the towel just yet.

Yes, the Denver Broncos have six losses in a season for the first time since Tim Tebow’s final year with the team.

The Broncos reign of dominance in the AFC West is come to a halt as they will miss out on their sixth straight AFC West crown.

And yes, the Denver Broncos are potentially one loss away from missing the playoffs for the first time since 2010, when Josh McDaniels sunk the team to a 4-12 record while getting fired at the 3-9 mark.

With that said, I have a letter for all of my Broncos Country family, friends, and fans.

Do not give up hope on this team. And I am going to tell you why.

As a realist, deep down, this season was to be expected. The great Peyton Manning rode off into the sunset and Brock Osweiler left for Houston.

Our quarterback situation was foggy going into training camp. Trevor Siemian emerged from the shadows and earned the trust of Gary Kubiak and his teammates.

Seeing him in training camp and in preseason, I was impressed. Was he going to be the next elite quarterback right away. Of course not.

What I am impressed with on Siemian is his ability to pick up on the offense quickly and adjust after a bad decision.

Paxton Lynch might be the future, but I honestly think he is too raw. Having him learn on the bench for this season, maybe even a bit longer, will really help.

I mean, look at Aaron Rodgers right now. Spent a good time behind Brett Farve and he’s doing well for himself.

The Offense Line

If there is one thing that I have taken away from this season that could really hurt the Denver Broncos’ chances, it is the offensive line.

I am not sure what is going on, but this line has been bad for quite some time. I thought all the additions during the offseason would help.

Not quite. Donald Stephenson and Ty Sambrailo have not helped out on the right side of the line. Russell Okung is not playing like we had hoped. And Max Garcia must be going through a sophomore slump.

Matt Paradis has been the only bright spot to the offensive line. And he was named an alternative to the Pro Bowl on Tuesday.

If anything, one thing that I am praising that the Broncos work on during the offseason is the offensive O-Line. With a solid O-Line, the Broncos can run the ball. If they can run the ball well, that can set up the pass.

Please, John Elway, get this offensive line fixed.

For what it is worth, we’ve enjoyed a lot of success.

Remember when the Denver Broncos were 4-12? We had fired our head coach with four game left of the season.

This Broncos teams is a lot better than that team. They have come a long way from that nightmare season. Broncos country has survived bad seasons before. We are fortunate that the Broncos haven’t had many losing seasons, especially under Pat Bowlen.

No matter what happens, I would not consider this season a failure. Even as Super Bowl Champions, we have been doubted.

Not a lot were predicting eight wins for the Broncos. We will still have an elite defense for a couple more years.

I’ll be really excited if the team makes the postseason. It will prove a lot of the doubters wrong. And as I will talk about shortly, getting into the postseason could make all the difference.

It is not over yet. There is still two more games left to be played.

The Denver Broncos are going to need some help to get to the postseason. They have not been eliminated yet. Therefore, I am asking the citizens of Broncos Country to not throw in the towel right now.

The important thing is to take this one game at a time. And it all starts with the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead on Christmas.

As long as their is breath in the Denver Broncos’ chances of making the postseason, I am not giving up on this team. Neither should you.
