Prediction: After predicting a loss to the Bengals, I owe these defiant Cowboys an apology. Instead of words I’m going to do them a solid by exposing the Packers supposedly all-world run defense.
Yes, the Packers have the #1 rushing defense in the NFL…on paper. Just as the Cowboys have the #1 rushing offense.
Now I’ll reveal how utterly terrible and incompetent the rushing offenses they shut down really are.
No team Green Bay faced has a rushing offense in the top 20…Jaguars (30), Vikings (32), Lions (23), Giants (27). The most productive rusher they’ve faced is ranked 36th in total rushing yards.
How many NFL fans could name the starting RB for the Packers opponents to date?
JAX – T. J. Yeldon (38.8 ypg)
DET – Theo Riddick (34.2 ypg)
MIN – Jerick McKinnon (34.8 ypg)
NYG – Orleans Darkwa (22.2 ypg)
Talk about a collection of nobody’s? Three weren’t even Week 1 starters and are now filling due to injuries. In a combined 11 starts and 19 appearances, not a single one reached 100 yards rushing all season.
Cowboys rookie Ezekiel Elliott has three consecutive games with 134+ rushing yards. His average also triples every third tier runner the Packers faced this season.
Next time someone brags how great the Green Bay run defense is, be sure to mention those same teams and rushers were grossly shut down by every other opponent as well.
Dallas will move the ball rather well by ground and air. But this is a tall defensive task. Holding down a balanced offense with a mobile QB in a tough venue is overly taxing.
Final Score: Green Bay Packers 24, Dallas Cowboys 23

Prediction: I want to tell you a secret.
I have deep admiration for the Green Bay Packers organization and fans. Especially how the organization operates. Their history speaks for itself — they were America’s Team before there was America’s Team.
Lambeau Field is as iconic of a stage as it gets.
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers is star stellar. The loyal fan base deserves any other fan’s respect. If I weren’t raised a Cowboys fan, I’d probably be a cheesehead (woah, I just said that).
But now it’s time for the two historic franchises to take aim at one another.
Look, if cornerback Morris Claiborne hasn’t been playing as well as he has, I don’t think my final score would favor Dallas. But played well he has. He’s been the cornerstone of this defense, what Sean Lee and Orlando Scandrick were before him. Now, he is dealing with an ankle injury, but a 80 percent Mo Claiborne is better than a zero percent one.

I just got this weird feeling before the bye week. I feel the Dallas Cowboys will throw all their chips to the center, man up before the break, and power over the cheeseheads like it’s 1995.
Their run defense versus our run efficiency is the story match up. Just good old battles in the trenches. Though, I think the Lambeau turf will be filled with rookie highlighters.
Here’s how Dallas wins: The playbook of offensive coordinator Scott Linehan. I’m expecting some reverse plays from Lucky Whitehead. Ezekiel Elliott sensation runs straight on, but benefits from zone-read option plays and misdirection plays to counter Green Bay’s front line.
Dak Prescott will find Cole Beasley for two touchdowns. Jason Witten will be around, cause that’s what he does. Also, Prescott will rush for 30-50 yards. The playbook selection will slightly be more expansive. Prescott will break Mr. Tom Brady’s record.
So, there you go: Dallas wins. 5-1. Dez Bryant in or out? Doesn’t matter. Still calling a “W.” A big fat “W.”
Let the Tony Romo and Dak Prescott discussion begin.

Prediction: The Dallas Cowboys are riding a four-game winning streak heading into Lambeau Field Sunday to face the 3-1 Green Bay Packers. Sporting the league’s top rushing defense (mainly due to the fact they haven’t faced many quality running backs), the Packers could be in position to limit the league’s top rushing offensive.
More from The Landry Hat
And with quarterback Aaron Rodgers under center, Green Bay always has a puncher’s chance of winning any game. But they’ll be playing a much improved Cowboys defense who is coming off an impressive performance against the Cincinnati Bengals. Dallas will need to see similar success with their pass rush if they want to make Rodgers uncomfortable in the pocket.
The Cowboys offense, led by rookies in quarterback Dak Prescott and running back Ezekiel Elliott seems to be improving each week. I don’t expect that to change in Week Six.
I bet against the Dallas Cowboys last week and they simply dominated the Bengals. This is obviously a different challenge, especially since it takes place in Lambeau.
But I’ve learned my lesson about betting against these two rookies, who have ignited a fire under this franchise. Until proven otherwise, I’m going to predict Prescott and Elliott once again find a way to led their Cowboys to victory.

Prediction: For the second week in a row, the Dallas Cowboys are in a “prove I game.” Those that had doubts against the Cincinnati Bengals apparently weren’t impressed with Dallas’ beat down of the Bengals and want to see more.
Well, here’s the opportunity for the Cowboys to show everyone that they’re for real. Win this game and the Cowboys can ride into their bye week in high gear, strutting their stuff like brave peacocks!
It won’t be easy. The Green Bay Packers have stout defense that is tops in the league at defending the run. It helps the Packers that they haven’t come close to playing anyone who can run the ball with any effectiveness and Dallas will challenge Dom Capers’ unit.
The Cowboys will be able to run the ball on Green Bay, although it might not be as easy as it has been in the past few weeks. Defensively is where the Cowboys need to make a few plays if they want to win the game.
The Packers won’t have a top-tier running back healthy enough to hurt the Cowboys, so Dallas needs another strong game in the secondary. The Cowboys will run the ball and quarterback Dak Prescott, who is not afraid of the big stage, will make enough plays on offense. If the Cowboys can get two sacks and a turnover (that’s it!), they will win this game.
Everyone will be believers after the victory and the Dak/Romo controversy heats up for another 13 days before the team plays again.

Prediction: The one thing I have learned through five games about these Dallas Cowboys is that they are going to fight.
Going up to Green Bay and playing a Packers team that has had the Cowboys number the past several times they have played is going to be tough.
Emotions will surely be high as many of the 2014 players are still on this roster and would love revenge of the “non-catch” by Dez Bryant in the 2014 playoff game.
I believe the club will be conservative with injuries and hold Bryant out another game making it even more difficult on the offense in a hostile environment.
I’m not betting against this team and their ability to overcome and just win ball games.
I think Zeke and company will gouge the Packers number 1 ranked run defense for the most yards they have given up all season.
The pass rush will fluster Aaron Rodgers just enough, while the secondary eliminates Jordy Nelson, and the Cowboys will escape Green Bay with a huge conference win heading into their bye week.

Prediction: This is a huge test before the Cowboys bye week. Getting a win in Lambeau is not easy, as only a few teams have managed to find a way to walk out with a win in the past several seasons.
Aaron Rodgers is the best quarterback the Cowboys will see this season and if they don’t cover as great as they have to this point- and if the pass rush is inconsistent, the Dallas defense is going to get gashed.
Something tells me that the rookie magic on the offensive side of the ball continues on the road in Green Bay. Ezekiel Elliott is facing the toughest run defense in the league but somehow I still see him getting 20 carries for around 100 yards and a score.
It would be great if Dez Bryant were able to play with Packers corner Sam Shields likely out with a concussion but that is unlikely. With or without Dez, I expect this offense to continue moving the ball effectively as they have for the majority of the season.
Tight end Jason Witten gets his first touchdown of the season and Dak completes over 70% of his passes in an impressive display that will further boost the quarterback controversy heading into the bye week. Rookie corner back Anthony Brown intercepts a tipped pass intended for Randall Cobb and DeMarcus Lawrence registers his first sack of the season.

Prediction: The Dallas Cowboys are heading into their biggest game of the season so far as they head to Lambeau Field to face the Green Bay Packers.
This game pits the number one rushing defense versus the number one rushing offense and really only on team’s numbers are inflated.
The Packers have played against the Vikings, Jaguars, Lions, and Giants and none of those teams have a running back that has been half as good as Ezekiel Elliott.
It also is notable that most of those teams are towards the bottom of the league in rushing.
This is truly a matchup in favor of the Cowboys running game and Zeke will prove it on Sunday.
When you combine that with the fact the Cowboys cornerback Morris Claiborne has been playing the best football of his career this game should be slightly slanted towards the Cowboys if you factor in the matchups.
The Bengals defensive front was more formidable and so was their secondary so you could argue that the Packers will struggle just as much when Sunday rolls around.
Rookie quarterback Dak Prescott and the rest of the Cowboys offense should continue to rise at Lambeau with a solid win before their bye.
Final Score: Dallas Cowboys 35, Green Bay Packers 24

Prediction: This is going to be your classic “something’s got to give” matchup between the Cowboys top ranked rushing offense and the Packers top rated rushing defense. Thankfully the Cowboys aren’t a one-dimensional team and can score through the air as well, especially if Dez Bryant is able to return to the scene of his most controversial play.
Final Score: Dallas Cowboys 28, Green Bay Packers 17
