Cutler: Throwing to Bears WR Alshon Jeffery is 'pretty easy'

Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler has a great connection with wide receiver Alshon Jeffery. The former second-round draft pick has become Cutler's No. 1 target this season, and he has made a noticeable impact in between injuries.

Cutler said throwing to a receiver as talented as Jeffery is "pretty easy."

Jeffery's 2015 stats don't jump off the page: 53 catches, 797 yards and three touchdowns. However, when you consider the fact that he has missed five games this season, Jeffery is actually averaging 99.6 yards per game. He trails only Julio Jones, Antonio Brown and Odell Beckham Jr. in that category.

I think Alshon has an uncanny ability to know kind of what to do at the top of routes, back shoulder, over the top. His jump-ball ability is one of the best in the game. His hands are extraordinary and he is still able to get in and out of cuts so throwing to him is relatively pretty easy.

Jeffery should be looking at a huge payday with his rookie contract expiring this spring, but his inability to stay healthy this season might hurt his value on the open market. His availability is in question once again for Week 15, as he missed Thursday's practice with an illness and is dealing with a calf injury that limited him on Wednesday.
