Cowboys re-signing Lance Dunbar coming off major knee injury
IRVING, Texas (AP) The Dallas Cowboys are re-signing running back Lance Dunbar, who might not be ready to start the season after a major knee injury in 2015.
Dunbar agreed to a one-year deal Thursday after making free-agent visits to Seattle, Chicago and San Francisco.
The 26-year-old Dunbar tore the anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments in his left knee in Week 4 against New Orleans. He missed seven games in 2013 with another left knee injury.
Both times he got hurt, the versatile Dunbar was having his best rushing game of the season, including a career-high 82 yards against Oakland in 2013.
The Cowboys don't expect Dunbar to be ready for training camp, when he could be placed on the physically unable to perform list.
