Cowboys' Randy Gregory reportedly still facing prospect of longer suspension

Dallas Cowboys defensive end Randy Gregory was given a four-game suspension Saturday for violating the league's substance abuse policy, but that might not be the end of the penalties Gregory faces.

Gregory is still appealing his 10-game suspension for another substance-abuse violation, according to multiple reports Sunday. The 23-year-old has not had his appeal heard regarding a suspension stemming from his substance-abuse violation in July, according to NFL.com.

ESPN reported that the NFL has classified a potential "4-plus-10" suspension as pending. Gregory's announced four-game suspension is punishment from his initial violation in February.

Gregory was placed on the reserve/did not report list at the beginning of Cowboys training camp. Dallas drafted Gregory in the second round in 2015. He played in 12 games last season, missing four due to a high-ankle sprain he suffered in the season opener. He did not record a sack last year.
