Cowboys' Mincey refutes claim that defense called out Eagles' plays

Dallas Cowboys defensive end Jeremy Mincey dismissed an accusation that his team's defense was calling out plays before the snap in Sunday's win over the Philadelphia Eagles."

"Oh, no. That's all myth," Mincey told the Dallas News in response to the charge by Eagles wide receiver Josh Huff. "Nobody called out nothing."

Huff posted on Twitter that he could hear Dallas players yelling out the plays whenever he lined up near the Cowboys sideline. Mincey countered that claim by praising his team's game plan and for the players' "discipline" in sticking to it.

"We didn't (say), 'Oh, this is coming,' nobody did that. Everybody stayed fundamentally sound," Mincey said. "It might have felt like that to him. Truth be told, that's a lie."

Philadelphia coach Chip Kelly weighed in on the issue during Wednesday's media session and said Huff answered "no" when he asked him if he thought the Cowboys knew the Eagles' offensive signals.

Huff's charge was bolstered a bit by the dismal performance of Philadelphia's offense. The Eagles managed only 226 yards of total offense and were held to seven yards rushing, including two yards on 13 carries by ex-Cowboy DeMarco Murray.

A similar situation occurred last season in Philadelphia's game versus San Francisco, when the 49ers were said to be calling out plays before the snap. Mincey, though, offered a simple reason for such accusations - sour grapes.

"That's probably what it is," Mincey said. "When you lose everybody finds a reason."
