The Indianapolis Colts announced on Monday that the team has signed outside linebacker Deiontrez Mount to their practice squad and released cornerback Tay Glover-Wright in a corresponding move.
Originally a 6th round pick of the Tennessee Titans in the 2015 NFL Draft, Mount appeared in 4 games for the Titans this past season, recording an interception and a pass defensed before being placed on season-ending injured reserve in mid-October due to a torn ACL.

The 6’5″, 249 pound outside linebacker appeared in 3 games with Tennessee during this year’s preseason, making 5 total tackles, but was released in late August as part of the team’s initial 75-man roster cuts.
During his senior season with the Louisville Cardinals in 2014, Mount recorded 36 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, and 4 sacks as a full-time player in 13 games.
Here’s his NFL.com Draft Profile from two years ago and Pro Day summary:
BOTTOM LINE
Competes and plays with toughness and above-average play strength for his size, but needs more bulk to play defensive end. Will likely be slotted as a 3-4 SAM outside linebacker but lacks the twitch to be a full-time player.
Pro Day: Outside linebacker Deiontres Mount (6-4 3/4, 248) ran the 40 in 4.62 and 4.64 seconds (though, it was said he kind of bobbed and weaved during his runs and might have run faster). He had a 31-inch vertical jump and a 9-foot-11 broad jump. He had a 4.31-second short shuttle time and a 7.09-second three-cone time. He performed 28 strength lifts. Mount had a real good workout. He’ll likely be a third-day draft pick because he has one very valuable trait: He can rush the passer.
