Colts cut Indy native Camaron Beard

The Indianapolis Colts waived rookie defensive end Camaron Beard on Thursday while adding linebacker Justin Shirk, the team announced

The six-foot, 243-pound Shirk signed as an undrafted free agent out of Division II Bloomsburg University. He appeared in 45 career games for the Huskies, recording 392 tackles, 18 sacks and five forced fumbles. He served as team captain his senior season and was named Second Team Little All-America by the Associated Press.

Beard, who attended Cathedral High School in Indianapolis and played collegiately at the University of Cincinnati, was signed by the Colts as an undrafted free agent June 2. He played in 41 games for the Bearcats, recording 75 tackles and two sacks.
