Colts bench Richardson in favor of Donald Brown

Published Dec. 1, 2013 12:11 p.m. ET

Colts running back Trent Richardson has lost his starting spot to Donald Brown.

Brown has outplayed Richardson over the past few weeks, though the two backs have been rotating frequently during games, which is expected to continue Sunday against Tennessee. The Colts traded a first-round pick to the Browns in September for Richardson.

Indy (7-4) will be without cornerbacks Greg Toler and Josh Gordy, who both have groin injuries. The Colts' other inactives are linebackers Kavell Conner and Cam Johnson, offensive lineman Khaled Holmes, defensive lineman Montori Hughes and tight end Weslye Saunders.

The Titans (5-6) will be without starting tight end Craig Stevens (concussion) and backup receiver Damian Williams (hip).

Tennessee also put linebacker Zac Diles, defensive tackle Mike Martin, quarterback John Skelton and offensive linemen Kevin Matthews and Byron Stingily on the inactive list.
