Clint Session headed to Jacksonville

Published Jul. 28, 2011 6:54 p.m. ET

Colts linebacker Clint Session has agreed to a new 5-year deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars worth slightly more than $29 million.

Agent Harold Lewis says the deal for his client includes $11.5 million in guaranteed money and that the Colts did not make a strong push to keep Session. Free agents cannot officially sign contracts until Friday.

The decision to let Session go is not a surprise. Indy has allowed linebackers such as Mike Peterson, Marcus Washington, Cato June and David Thornton all leave as free agents over the past decade.

Lewis says Jacksonville, which also agreed to terms with Paul Posluszny this week, now has one of the NFL's strongest linebacker combinations.
