Chiefs kicker Cairo Santos pokes fun at his unbelievable game-winning field goal
It appears not everyone at Sports Authority Field assumed Kansas City Chiefs kicker Cairo Santos missed his 34-yard field goal in overtime Sunday night against the Denver Broncos.
After the Chiefs’ improbable 30-27 win, Santos said on Twitter that he never doubted his kick, which appeared to be wide left -- then wide right -- was going in. He said he called “bank” well before the ball ricocheted off the upright, but it still counted.
His only regret? Not letting holder Britton Colquitt know about his plan.
Obviously Santos is joking. It’s unlikely anyone thought this kick was going to be good when it left his foot.
Called the bank shot... just forgot to tell Colquitt. CHIEFS WIN!! pic.twitter.com/3N9Zv2HICJ
