Except for the rookie who fell to all fours and started heaving, the first practice for the Kansas City Chiefs following the 41/2-month lockout appeared to go well.
Coach Todd Haley had said he felt everybody was in pretty good shape. There were only about 60 players on the field.
One player having a tough time was Chris Harr, a 260-pound offensive lineman from Tennessee-Chattanooga the Chiefs signed as an undrafted rookie free agent. Toward the end of the day, he got sick and went down on his hands and knees. He eventually got back up and appeared to recover.
Quarterback Matt Cassel got his first chance to work with new quarterback coach Jim Zorn, who even had the right-handed Cassel dropping back left-handed.
