Chicago Bears sign veteran CB Tracy Porter to one-year deal

Published Jun. 8, 2015 11:22 a.m. ET

The Chicago Bears announced the signing of veteran cornerback Tracy Porter to a one-year deal on Monday. The move further bolsters a Chicago secondary with 36 NFL seasons of combined experience between cornerbacks Tim Jennings and Alan Ball, as well as safeties Antrel Rolle and Ryan Mundy.

Porter was a second-round selection of the New Orleans Saints back in 2008. He played four seasons with the Saints before bouncing to Denver in 2012, then Oakland in 2013 and finally Washington in 2014. The Redskins cut Porter last month.

Porter has 10 career regular-season interceptions, but he is most famous for his game-clinching pick-six against Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl XLIV. He has struggled with injuries through seven NFL seasons, playing all 16 games only once.
