Carr, Cooper connect for first time as Raiders teammates

Mr. Cooper, meet the quarterback that'll be slinging you passes all season.
Oakland's top draft pick finally got on the same field with Oakland's franchise quarterback on Tuesday. There, rookie receiver Amari Cooper showed Derek Carr why he went No. 4 overall this year.
“It was nice to get out there and see just how quick he is out of his breaks,” Carr told CSN Bay Area. “It was good to get out there and throw to him. I think he’s going to be special if he continues to work like he does.”
In the meantime, Oakland's new duo will continue to work out some kinks. Per reports, Carr hit Cooper perfectly during a two-minute drill, but said he misfired on other passes.
One such mistake? A pass that could've gone the distance if Carr led Cooper with his ball placement.
"If I lead him a bit, it would’ve been a big play," Carr said. "That’s a result of us just getting our timing down."
They have all summer to work on that timing. For now, Raiders fans are happy to see two bright spots on their young team finally cross paths.
