Browns waive DB K'Waun Williams, recently suspended by team

BEREA, Ohio (AP) The Cleveland Browns have waived defensive back K'Waun Williams, recently suspended by the team in a dispute over an injury.

Williams was suspended for two weeks on Aug. 17, a few days after he sat out Cleveland's exhibition opener against Green Bay with an injured ankle. The Browns had expected him to play against the Packers, but the 25-year-old Williams decided he was not healthy enough to dress.

Coach Hue Jackson refused to elaborate on the reason for Williams' release, saying only ''we're just moving forward.''

The release of Williams trimmed Cleveland's roster to 75. All NFL teams are required to be at that number by Tuesday.

The Browns signed Williams, who played at Pittsburgh, as an undrafted free agent in 2014. He made 10 starts in his two seasons with the Browns, recording two sacks and forcing three fumbles.
