Browns' Hillis sidelined for exhibition
Browns running back Peyton Hillis is not expected to play against Detroit because of a hamstring injury.
Hillis tweaked his leg during practice Wednesday and the Browns announced before Friday's exhibition he was one of the players unlikely to play. Hillis rushed for 1,177 yards last season, his first with Cleveland.
The Browns also are without starting left guard Eric Steinbach. He left practice earlier in the week when his back tightened. Also, safety T.J. Ward (hamstring), linebackers Scott Fujita (thigh) and Chris Gocong (stinger) and tight end Ben Watson (hamstring) are not playing.
The Lions are without starting cornerback Chris Houston (groin) and offensive tackle Jeff Backus (chest). Tight end Tony Scheffler is out after cutting his hand in practice and getting stitches.
