The Denver Broncos have selected speedy cornerback Kayvon Webster from the University of South Florida in the third round of the NFL draft.
Webster, a surprise selection with the 90th overall pick, collected 190 tackles in his four seasons in college with 8 1-2 tackles for loss and three interceptions.
Broncos Executive Vice President John Elway said Webster ''has excellent cover skills and speed, which you need in this league.''
Earlier Friday, the Broncos selected Wisconsin running back Montee Ball in the second round and then went back to focusing on defense. They chose defensive tackle Sylvester Williams of North Carolina with their first-round draft choice.
