Brett Favre said he was 'scared' when he played at Lambeau with the Vikings
Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre had his number retired on Thursday night.
Afterwards he joined NBC's Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth in the booth. While reflecting on his time at Lambeau Stadium, one memory he still struggles to shake is when he returned to play the Packers with the Minnesota Vikings.
"There was an anxiety attack that I wasn't expecting," Favre said. "When I came out of the tunnel that was the loudest boo I have ever heard."
Favre recalled thinking that playing the Packers at the Metrodome ahead of time would soften the blow. Not a chance as he donned the purple and gold.
"I was scared," Favre said. "I can't even tell you how scared I was. I wanted to play well and fortunately I did."
That's a feeling Favre will never have to fear as he had his number and name emblazoned on the team's circle of honor next to greats like Reggie White, Bart Starr and more.
