Bills move 2014 second-round RT Cyrus Kouandjio down depth chart
When the Buffalo Bills drafted tackle Cyrus Kouandjio out of Alabama with their 44th overall pick in 2014, they likely envisioned him as a massive road grader in the run game who can move bodies with ease.
Instead, he's started just one game in two seasons, and is now the Bills' third-string tackle. Rex Ryan said on Monday that Kouandjio was a healthy scratch against the Kansas City Chiefs, and going forward, he'll be below Jordan Mills on the depth chart.
Ryan said Mills, a mid-season acquisition, is "the better option for us right now."
Kouandjio is quickly becoming a bust for the Bills as two different coaching staffs have bumped him from the starting lineup. After working hard in the offseason and making his way into the starting lineup, Kouandjio has struggled in the little action he's seen.
With Mills backing up Seantrel Henderson at right tackle, Kouandjio likely won't be on the 46-man roster often in the coming weeks.
