Bills hire former Bears offensive line coach Pat Meyer
PITTSFORD, N.Y. (AP) The Buffalo Bills have hired Pat Meyer as a football operations consultant, and he also has a background as an offensive line coach.
The hiring was announced on Friday, shortly before the Bills opened training camp in suburban Rochester.
Meyer spent the past two seasons as an offensive line coach with the Chicago Bears under coordinator Aaron Kromer, who was hired by the Bills in January.
Kromer's future is uncertain in Buffalo. The team placed him on paid leave two-and-a-half weeks ago shortly after Kromer was arrested in Florida for allegedly punching a boy.
Meyer spent the 2012 season as offensive coordinator and line coach of the Canadian Football League Montreal Alouettes. He previously worked as an assistant coach at various colleges.
