Back in as starter, Rams' Foles intercepted three times in ugly loss

With Case Keenum sidelined due to a concussion sustained a week ago, Foles received the nod Sunday and turned in another dismal performance as the Rams ran their losing streak to four games with a 31-7 setback at the Cincinnati Bengals.
Foles (30-of-46, 228 yards) was intercepted three times, including a pick-six in the third quarter that essentially put the game out of reach, and reinforced coach Jeff Fisher's decision to bench him in favor of Keenum following a 37-13 drubbing by Chicago on Nov. 15.
With St. Louis trailing 17-7 late in the first half, Foles attempted to force the ball into coverage and was picked off by Reggie Nelson at the 5-yard-line to thwart a prime scoring chance. He buried his team's hopes with just over five minutes left in the third, stepping up in the pocket and throwing directly at Leon Hall, who brought it back 19 yards for a TD and a 31-7 cushion.

"I was scrambling and trying to step up, make a play, and try to convert," Foles said. "I saw (Hall) and tried to get the ball over him. It was one of those things where I was trying to make too big of a play in that situation."
Acquired from the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for Sam Bradford in a swap of starting quarterbacks, Foles did manage to surpass 200 yards in the air for the first time since Week 1 on a season-high 46 attempts for the league's worst passing attack.
Foles not only failed to throw a touchdown pass for the third straight game, but he has only two scoring passes versus eight interceptions in his last six starts. Rookie Sean Mannion came on for the final series for Foles, who may not see the field again if Keenum is healthy.
"When Case does pass (the concussion protocol) — and we're hopeful it's this week — then he'll go back under center as the starter," Fisher said.
