AP Source: Jets re-sign FB Hilliard to 1-year deal

A person with knowledge of the situation tells The Associated Press that the New York Jets have re-signed fullback Lex Hilliard to a one-year contract.
The move Wednesday comes as the Jets have lost a few of their other free agents, including running back Shonn Greene, defensive lineman Mike DeVito and safeties Yeremiah Bell and LaRon Landry. Tight end Dustin Keller and guard Brandon Moore are also expected to sign elsewhere.
The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because the team had not yet announced the move. The signing was first reported by ProFootballTalk.com.
Hilliard was signed in the middle of last season to replace John Conner. He finished with eight carries for 31 yards, and four catches for 23 yards and also contributed on special teams.
The Jets also officially announced they released defensive tackle Sione Po'uha. The move was made shortly before the NFL's free agency period began Tuesday.
''Sione has been a leader on this team and a great example of a true pro,'' coach Rex Ryan said. ''It's been my honor to coach him. I wish him and his family the very best.''
