Agent: Vikings won't put franchise tag on Randy Moss

The Minnesota Vikings have agreed not to place a franchise tag on newly acquired wide receiver Randy Moss, agent Joel Segal told the Pioneer Press today.

Moss signed with Segal in the offseason.

Moss is basically a rental to the Vikings right now because no extension is in place. Moss is in the final year of a deal that pays him $6.4 million in the 2010 season, $4.894 million of which the Vikings owe to the seven-time Pro Bowler.

Moss said he's unsure whether he will remain a Viking after 2010, but he's feeling the love from the fans who watched him play from 1998-2004 in the Metrodome.

"I'm waiting for this game Monday night (against the New York Jets), but especially to get up in that Metrodome for my first game in a few years," said Moss, who will take his Twin Cities curtain call Oct. 17 against the Dallas Cowboys.
