49ers' Bowman keeps positive outlook despite defensive woes in loss

The San Francisco 49ers finally discovered some offensive cohesion in Sunday's last-second loss to the New York Giants.
It was a far different story on the other side of the ball as San Francisco's defense was gouged for 525 total yards in the 30-27 setback. Still, veteran linebacker NaVorro Bowman managed to put a positive spin on the performance of his unit.
“I think we played well,” Bowman told reporters after the game. “I just see this team just continuing to get better. I don’t think anything is out there that we should hang our heads about. I think we have a bright future with us being so young and having so much adversity so early.”
Bowman was victimized on the winning touchdown as Giants tight end Larry Donnell made a sensational catch over him in the end zone to cap a 441-yard, three-touchdown game from New York quarterback Eli Manning.
“I thought I played it pretty good," Bowman said. "Just great pass, great catch.”
