Shaquille O'Neal's original size-22 sneaker is making a very limited comeback

Everything about Shaquille O'Neal is larger than life. We're talking about a man who made his NBA debut by going coast-to-coast like a runaway freight train and a superstar who had as many self-styled nicknames as he did accolades.

Of course, O'Neal was literally larger than most as well — standing 7-plus feet tall, weighing 300-plus pounds, and sporting absurd size-22 shoes that doubled as an oversized phone for Allen Iverson:

Now, those massive kicks are making a comeback, in a very limited quantity. On Thursday, memorabilia company Steiner Sports announced it would be selling 1,000 of O'Neal's original Reebok "Shaq Attaq" sneakers.

Steiner Sports CEO Brandon Steiner said all 1,000 won't be the same. They'll be numbered, often to 32 and 34, his jersey numbers, and will feature different stat inscriptions from his time as a player with the Magic, Lakers and Heat and from his college days at LSU. O'Neal might also sign shoes with some of his creative nicknames, including "The Big Aristotle," "The Big Baryshnikov," and "Shaq Fu."

Each shoe will come in a custom glass case and will feature a newly created signature from Shaq featuring his entire first name along with an "HOF '16" inscription.

The limited edition release will sell for $999.32. Unfortunately, though, there's a catch. You only get one shoe, not an actual pair:

Maybe that's not the worst thing in the world, though. If you did manage to buy a pair, you'd inevitably attempt to try them on. And that would end with you tripping and falling down. Better to leave the shoe in the glass case in which it arrives.
