Russell Westbrook says Warriors talk a lot of trash

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook said the Golden State Warriors talk a lot of trash.

The first battle between the Golden State Warriors and Oklahoma City Thunder is in the books. It also means the first meeting between Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook is also over. Durant took the first meeting between the two sides, as he led the Warriors to a huge win in blowout fashion.

The whole night wasn’t without its antics however. Westbrook showed up to the game as a cameraman to mock Durant’s hobby of photography. He claims it was a fashion piece, but the jury is still out. After the game, Westbrook did a really good job of not going there with Durant and avoiding questions about him. He did get one shot in at the Warriors though. He mentioned to reporters that the Warriors talk a lot of trash.

In terms of things that Westbrook could say about the Warriors, this isn’t even really that bad. It’s a bit funny coming from him, but that’s what makes the NBA great. These two teams do not like each other at all and they will play again at least three more times this season.

Durant was talking a lot on the floor and he was backing it up with his play. He came unleashed in the second quarter and the Warriors never looked back. Their next battle can’t get here soon enough.
