Report: Mavericks close to adding former Nuggets coach Melvin Hunt
Dallas Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle has an impressive coaching tree, with former assistants Terry Stotts and Dwane Casey holding head coaching jobs in Portland and Toronto, respectively.
This time around, it sounds like Carlisle is ready to bring in an outsider to be his lead assistant for the upcoming season.

Former Denver Nuggets coach Melvin Hunt is closing in on an agreement to join Rick Carlisle's coaching staff in Dallas, according to league sources.
Sources told ESPN.com that Hunt -- who has also been courted strongly by the New Orleans Pelicans since the Nuggets chose to hire Mike Malone as their new full-time head coach -- is expected to soon finalize a deal with Dallas to become Carlisle's new top aide.
