Report: Delonte West being treated for bipolar disorder after scare

Published Mar. 1, 2016 10:43 a.m. ET

Delonte West reportedly was on medication and hallucinating when a fan recently spotted him wandering around outside a Jack in the Box restaurant.

Sources who are “extremely close” to West told TMZ this week that West had taken the wrong medication at a facility where he was being treated for bipolar disorder.

"Because of the hallucinations he walked out of the facility, barefoot, in the hospital gown. He went to go get food. That’s when he was videotaped and photographed.”

A fan who spotted West snapped a couple of photos, and West clearly did not look right. The 32-year reportedly is being treated at a different facility now and those close to him are confident he is receiving the proper care.

Prior to the incident last month, we hadn’t heard much about West in a while — aside from that Twitter rant about LeBron James that may have been from a fake account. Hopefully West is able to get the help he needs.
