Report: Andrea Bargnani (hamstring) ruled out for game against Knicks
You'd have to imagine going up against a former team and fan base that spent years tosses you in the dog house and making jokes about you both behind your back and to your face would be the ultimate form of a revenge game. Unfortunately, Andrea Bargnani won't get to experience that Friday night when his Nets head to Madison Square Garden to play his former team, the Knicks.
From Devin Kharpertian of The Brooklyn Game:
Bargnani has performed just about how anyone should've expected with the Nets, though Lionel Hollins has continued to give him playing time despite his defensive limitations and quick trigger. He's averaging 5.9 points and 1.7 rebounds in 13.1 minutes a night, but this season has also proved to be his least efficient one, posting figured that are comfortably career lows in field-goal percent, three-point percentage and true-shooting percentage.
Andrea Bargnani will sit out a second straight game with a tight left hamstring, the Nets announced Thursday, meaning he’ll miss his first chance to face the Knicks since leaving the team this offseason.
Bargnani missed most of preseason with tightness in his left hamstring, though he returned in time to play in the first game of the regular season. He only played in three minutes Sunday night against the Detroit Pistons before the hamstring flared up again.
