NBA Rumors: Pistons' Reggie Jackson To Miss 'Extended Time' With Injury?
NBA Rumors: According to reports, there are rumblings that Detroit Pistons point guard Reggie Jackson could miss extended time with a knee issue
Coming off a season in which they returned to the playoffs for the first time in six years, the Detroit Pistons are expected to be one of the emerging teams in the Eastern Conference this season.
Though, as is the case with almost every team in the NBA, that was highly dependent on health. Especially to their key contributors.
And that’s apparently very much in question at the moment. According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, there are rumblings around the league that suggest Pistons point guard Reggie Jackson could miss “extended time” with a nagging knee issue.

Today’s hot rumble: Hearing Detroit, fearing Reggie Jackson may miss extended time to start the season, will explore the point guard market.
After missing Tuesday’s open practice, Detroit’s Reggie Jackson told local scribes he’s been battling tendinitis in his left knee for years.
If this is in fact true, this would come off as a huge surprise. Even though Jackson sat out an open practice, there was no indication that he would miss extended time – per multiple in attendance.
Question is, if Jackson does miss some – or even extended – time, where do the Detroit Pistons turn to?
Detroit signed Ish Smith in the offseason, but I don’t think anyone in the organization planned for him to be the starting point guard to open the season.
Jackson averaged 19 points and six assists last season for the Pistons. He was arguably the team’s best offensive weapon. If he were to miss even just a portion of the season, it would be a huge blow to the aspirations that the Pistons have for the 2016-17 season.
As of note, Mario Chalmers is still on the open market. As is Kirk Hinrich. Norris Cole recently signed to play in China this season. If the Pistons need immediate help in the backcourt, I suppose those are two options for Stan Van Gundy and company.
