Nance Jr.'s old tweet about Kobe's rape case resurfaces
Kids, didn't we warn you about being careful how you use social media? Because you never know when a tweet you posted three years ago about an NBA superstar is going to pop up at a most inopportune time -- like when that superstar's team has just picked you in the draft.
Larry Nance Jr., a power forward from Wyoming -- and, yes, son of the former NBA slam dunk champion -- went at No. 27 in the first round on Thursday night to the Los Angeles Lakers. Next thing you know, an ESPN reporter had tweeted about Nance Jr.'s old tweet:

Nance was referring to Kobe Bryant's 2003 arrest on sexual assault charges -- which ended with the charges dropped the next year when his accuser wouldn't testify in court and an out-of-court settlement with the alleged victim in 2005.
Jason McIntyre of The Big Lead wrote: "I'm a bit surprised that when the Lakers did their homework on (Nance), they didn't check his social media. Might have been wise to have him delete it before it hit Twitter."
Meanwhile, Nance is just one of the first-rounders to learn that anything you put out on the Internet is forever. Bobby Portis, picked by the Chicago Bulls at No. 22, tweeted his devotion to the Miami Heat four years ago with a message that included "f--- DRose and that Bulls." And Frank Kaminsky, just selected by the Charlotte Hornets, last year wrote in his blog about the NBA that "there are games when teams like the Bobcats (the Hornets' previous name) get hardly any fans, and it looks flat out boring."
