James Harden's All-Star sneakers have 'crazy' in the name for a reason

Published Feb. 3, 2016 3:08 p.m. ET

All of the basketball sneakers on the Adidas roster got a makeover in celebration of this year's NBA All-Star festivities taking place in Toronto, but only James Harden will get to break out a pair during the weekend's main event on Sunday.

And these might be the craziest ones yet.

The Aurora Borealis collection is inspired by the Northern Lights, which can be seen in the Canada skies, and the sneakers feature multi-colored uppers with purple accents and glow-in-the-dark styling. The model Harden will wear -- a player edition of the Crazylight Boost 2.5 -- also has reflective scales that light up when hit with a flash of light.

The Aurora Borealis Collection launched at adidas.com last week, with Harden’s edition scheduled to drop on Feb. 12.
