Fort Wayne Mad Ants Too Much for Delaware 87ers

The Fort Wayne Mad Ants picked up their second straight win by knocking off the Delaware 87ers 120-109 in the NBA Development League.

Alex Poythress and Trey McKinney-Jones led the charge as the Fort Wayne Mad Ants beat the Delaware 87ers 120-109 on Sunday.

Poythress and McKinney-Jones had 23 points apiece to lead the Mad Ants in scoring. Poythress had seven rebounds, four assists, and four blocks shots to go with his points while McKinney-Jones had six rebounds and four assists to his name.

The win puts Fort Wayne at 9-2 with the second best record in the NBA Development League.

The game also marked the end of Georges Niang’s stint with the Mad Ants. Niang had a solid performance with 13 points on 4 of 5 shooting from the floor and five of seven from the foul line.

Niang ends his 3-game assignment averaging 16 points a game on 50% shooting.

The Mad Ants have a modest break until Friday when they host the Long Island Nets at 7 p.m. at Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne.
