Charlie Villanueva responds to Russell Westbrook: If you want to dance, go to a club
Charlie Villanueva has heard Russell Westbrook's take on whether or not the Dallas Mavericks big man matters, and he has his own response: If you want to dance, get on the dance floor.

Villanueva and the Oklahoma City Thunder point guard were involved in a tiny kerfuffle before Game 2, as Villanueva stepped between Westbrook and teammate Cameron Payne during their elaborate pregame routine. After the game, Westbrook and Kevin Durant took issue with Villanueva's actions, saying that type of thing is for guys who don't play. It's a comment Villanueva found rather curious as he shared his reaction with FOX Sports on Tuesday:
I guess I went viral. Everybody was talking about me interrupting their -- Russell Westbrook and Cameron Payne’s routine or dance or whatever you want to call it. And I heard the response. I’ve heard Russell Westbrook talk about those are for the guys who don’t play. And I don’t necessarily know who he’s talking about, because Cameron Payne and myself, we both had the same stat line. I think Kevin Durant added his two cents, but Kevin’s a good kid, so I’m just going to leave him alone.
If you want to go dancing, stuff like that, go to a nightclub. Go to a club and dance. Go to ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and be a dancer. You want to battle and dance, we can battle. But not in a basketball game. Not at a basketball game. Plus, they were in my way, too. So I wasn’t necessarily interrupting their dance.
But, great team win. Looking forward to Game 3. Great team. They’re a great team. So we got to come ready to play. I know they’re going to bring it. So we got to be ready. Peace.
Well then. We can't exactly argue with Villanueva. Sure, he sat on the bench for all of Game 2. But as he points out, so did Payne.
Game 3 should indeed be interesting. The Mavericks host the Thunder at 7:00 PM ET on Thursday night, and we fully expect Westbrook to do his level best to dunk on Villanueva as hard as he possibly can.
