Cavs extend qualifying offers to Thompson, Shumpert and Dellvedova
The Cleveland Cavaliers are going to have an expensive summer, any way you slice it. Guess you can't blame them for trying to find any refunds they can.
Matthew Dellavedova, Tristan Thompson and Iman Shumpert are among their many free agents. All three played very well for them in their run to the 2015 NBA Finals, too.
That's why the Cavs have extended qualifying offers to each of these reserve men. They're all eligible for much more money than the minimum-dollar amounts in these deals, and will likely test the market, regardless of whether they end up back in Cleveland.
Due to his close relationship with LeBron James and agent Rich Paul, Thompson is all but a lock to return on a huge deal. Shumpert and Dellavedova could very well find their highest price elsewhere, though. Stay tuned.
