Blatt on talk of tension with LeBron: 'Heart in the right place'
Recent reports have suggested that LeBron James' handling of rookie coach David Blatt has been less than kind.
A Cleveland Cavaliers team presser on Thursday afternoon saw reporters asking the coach questions about it, and he took them in confident stride, as he's want to do. Here's the word from Chris Haynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
"Blatt took a question about whether part of coaching James is allowing him to have more freedom and 'let LeBron be LeBron.' Blatt responded: 'Absolutely. He is a galvanizing player. ... He is a winner, a proven champion. I think it's important that he feels empowered, and at the same time that he knows he's an important part of this team.' Blatt said James' heart is always in the right place and that everything he does is with the best interests of the team in mind."
Blatt's rhetoric here is encouraging and political, as it has been for months. We'll see if it helps him keep his job this summer.
