Andrea Bargnani actually had a good game
Do good games count when they happen against the 76ers? Andrea Bargnani would tell you they absolutely do.
The Nets almost let a home game against the 1-22 Sixers slip through their fingers Thursday evening. Fortunately, Bargnani was there to catch the win just in time, dropping a season-high 23 points on Philly in the victorious effort.
From Fred Kerber of the New York Post:
Bargnani had been injured the previous four games. His season high heading into the night was the 17 he had on opening day.
Don't expect Bargs going for 23 to be a regular thing. His defense and shot selection is a bit too egregious to play him consistent minutes, though Lionel Hollins has kept him a mainstay in the Nets' rotation when he's been healthy.
“AB was so huge coming off his injury, and then Shane was his usual aggressive, quick self,” Lopez said.
The bench fueled a game- and face-saving fourth quarter that began with the Nets in a four-point ditch. Bargnani and Larkin scored key back-to-back three-point plays and the Nets denied the Sixers’ upset bid with a 100-91 victory Thursday night at Barclays Center.
“It was a good win. In our situation, we take every win,” said Bargnani, who finished with 23 points in his first game after missing four with a tight left hamstring. “We could have done a better job being focused during the game. I thought in the first half, we didn’t do a great job being focused but in the end we got the ‘W’ and that’s all that matters.”
