After rough game against Bulls, DeMarre Carroll discusses poor health
DeMarre Carroll has played just 23 of Toronto's 35 games this season due to multiple nagging injuries.
This is Carroll's first year with the Raptors after signing with the team this offseason. He averages 32.0 minutes per game when he's healthy -- but his recent performance against the Bulls has caused reason for concern. Carroll, who was guarding Chicago's Jimmy Butler, allowed his opposition to score 40 points in the second half.
"I don’t want to speak too much [about it]," said Carroll, via TSN.ca. "I’m not all of the way there. [Butler] did what he’s supposed to do when a guy’s not all of the way there. I’ll see him again. It’s no big deal."
Carroll was averaging 35 minutes per game when was active in November but hasn't eclipsed 26 per game since he returned from injury on December 26.
This year, Carroll has suffered from plantar fasciitis (a foot condition that sidelined him for a few games) as well as another nagging knee injury.
DeMarre Carroll isn't 100%, he may not even be close, and it hasn't been easy for him to come to terms with that: https://t.co/RryDXmGgIR

"My whole thing is, I'm an energy guy," he said, in the report. "I'm an energy guy, I go grab rebounds, do the little things. Scoring, offensively and all that is a plus but I'm more of an energy guy, that's what I've been this whole time in the league. I just feel like I can't do that right now."
