Peachtree City, Georgia, native Reed Sorenson has secured a ride for the 2015 Daytona 500 by joining forces with Team Xtreme Racing.

Sorenson, who raced for Tommy Baldwin Racing during the 2014 Sprint Cup season, brings Golden Corral with him to Team Xtreme Racing and its No. 44 Chevrolet. Peter Sospenzo will serve as crew chief on the No. 44 Golden Corral Chevrolet.

This will mark Sorenson's sixth Daytona 500, with his best finish coming in 2008 while driving the No. 41 Chip Ganassi-owned Dodge.

"The Daytona 500 is always an exciting time of year, I am really looking forward to racing with Team Xtreme for the biggest race of the year," said Sorenson. "We've got a great looking Golden Corral Chevrolet and I want to see us feed some kids on Monday with the 'Top 10 Kids Eat Free' promotion."

Team Xtreme Racing is one of the newer teams in the sport, with team owner John Cohen fielding a car for just eight races during the 2014 Sprint Cup campaign with Timmy Hill and J.J. Yeley behind the wheel.

"The 44 team has been hard at work over the offseason," said Cohen. "We have made some big steps to further our efforts in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and it all begins at Daytona. Hiring Reed Sorenson to drive for us at the 500 was the right move for our team, he excels at restrictor plate racing and we are excited to get to Daytona."
