Vin Scully spoke about MLB pace-of-play on David Letterman show 25 years ago

David Lettermanās āLate Showā is coming to an end later this month after 23 years. Jon Weisman of Dodger Insider (via Tom Hoffarth) posted a video of Dodger announcer Vin Scully appearing on Lettermanās previous late night show, āLate Nightā in May 1990.
Letterman was already marveling at the fact that Scully had been calling Dodger games for 41 years. Who knew that he would actually be retiring before Scully. Interestingly, the tv host asked the Dodger announcer about the increasingly slower pace-of-play of baseball games -- 25 years before Major League Baseball finally decided to address the issue. The two also talk about the shortening of starting pitchersā outings. Over two decades later and some things just havenāt changed.
