The Minnesota Twins placed All-Star catcher Joe Mauer on the 15-day disabled list with bilateral leg weakness. The move is retroactive to April 13.
Mauer, 27, is batting .235 and has driven in four runs. It's the first time Mauer has been placed on the DL since the 2009, when he missed the first month of the season with inflammation of the right sacroiliac joint.
The Twins called up catcher Steve Holm from Triple-A Rochester.
