The Boston Red Sox offered salary arbitration to catcher Victor Martinez, meaning they would receive draft choices as compensation if he completes his four-year, $50 million contract with the Detroit Tigers.

Boston also offered arbitration to third baseman Adrian Beltre and infielder Felipe Lopez.

The Red Sox decided not to offer arbitration to infielder Mike Lowell, who has said he will retire, catcher Jason Varitek and utilityman Bill Hall.

Players offered arbitration have until Tuesday to accept or reject the offer.
