Red Sox RF Drew leaves game with hamstring strain

Published Jun. 19, 2010 4:39 a.m. ET

Boston Red Sox right fielder J.D. Drew strained his right hamstring running after Manny Ramirez's line drive and left Friday night's game.

``The right hammy's pretty sore,'' Red Sox manager Terry Francona said after Boston's 10-6 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers. ``He said he thought he felt a pop. He has pretty good range of motion. He's sore.''

Drew will have an MRI on Saturday. Francona said he hoped Drew would be out just a couple of games.

Drew made the catch for the final out in the third inning. Darnell McDonald pinch hit for him in the bottom half.
