Rookie pitcher Martin Perez is scheduled to make his first major league start Saturday for the Texas Rangers.

The Rangers said Friday that the left-hander will start the third game of a four-game series against Oakland instead of rookie Justin Grimm.

Perez, Texas' top pitching prospect, made his major league debut Wednesday night. He allowed four runs, only one earned, while recording two outs against Detroit.

Grimm is 1-1 with an 11.57 ERA in his two starts.
