Ouch: DeShields Jr. took a fastball to the face and this happened
Houston Astros prospect Delino DeShields Jr. suffered a serious blow to the face on Friday.
The center fielder for Double-A Corpus Christi (and son of former MLB player Delino DeShields) was hit by a fastball on the right side of his face during a game in Frisco, Texas, MLB.com reported.
Although DeShields Jr. was able to walk off the field on his own, he was still taken to the hospital to be treated.
Good thing, considering this is what happened to the seventh-ranked Astros prospect:
Shoutout to my brother for taking a 90mph fastball to the face like a champ. Looking good Delilah @LinoDeShields pic.twitter.com/Gy1kGakEKE

Here is the diagnosis (though it appears to be on the right side of his face, not the left):
Yikes. That is one serious swell.
