The struggling Baltimore Orioles recalled power hitter Rhyne Hughes from Triple-A Norfolk in an attempt to add some punch to their offense on Saturday.

To make room for Hughes, Justin Turner was optioned to Norfolk.

Hughes, a former top prospect with Tampa Bay, was hitting .353 with three homers and 11 RBIs in 15 games when he was recalled. He was listed in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Red Sox.

Baltimore entered Saturday night's game against Boston hitting just .227 and a major league-worst 2-15.
